The six postcards were photographed at Iltisstrasse, Kiauschoustrasse, Lansstrasse, Pekinger Platz, Takustrasse, and Walderseestrasse in Berlin. These names stem from Germany’s colonial history in Qingdao, China. By intertwining personal writing and historical narratives, the work challenges the colonial gaze and reframes it to center and reflect on contemporary migration experiences.
